Beware PYT''s ahead..

Today’s Newspaper (Deccan Chronicle) article reads ‘PYT’S Ahead Drive carefully’

Who are these PYT’S you may ask....’pretty young things’ dear friends.

These femme fatales are causing fatal accidents on the roads to all those ‘young at heart’ male drivers by distracting their driving....actually senses..hehe

Then the article talks about a survey conducted by uswitch.com that claims that almost 50% increase in road accidents are due to these fatal PYT’s.

Well…well...a major problem for the traffic police!

The main reason why PYT’s are able to distract men are just not because they are PYT’s walking down the street, but because they are PYT’s in PLHD’s (pretty lil HOT dresses).hehe

The survey says that the PYT’s are embracing western clothing even in conservative cities like Hyderabad that used to see PYT’s only in Salwars at one time.. a great new problem for the already messy traffic here!

I remember the day when I was standing near a bus stop that was crowded by these PYT’s during my college days. Of course! I wasn’t belonging to there genre, was more like a nerd in those days....

Then came a guy, zooming on his bike. His dress was fanciful; I must say…he looked more like a racer, or rocker or just some young guy aping the west. His crazy Bike halted before the PYT’S and roared and exhaled smoke as he kept accelerating… the guy surely wanted to be noticed by them. Then the inevitable happened….The bike rose on it’s rear wheel like a mad horse that was possessed and then…THUD!.. BANG!!.. CRASH!!!……..

Well…poor guy, the PYT’s walked away saying what a show off...

I really felt pity for this guy. Now, I can imagine how much he must have pestered his parents for that crazy bike, how much he must have practiced for the stunts, how much he must have spent on his wardrobe, his gelled hair. how many times he must have questioned the mirror on the wall…Tch! Tch!

We cannot stop PYT’S from crossing our streets or crazy bikers from performing stunts. My suggestion to the Traffic police is to put up a traffic sign board near all important PYT’S Colleges and zones saying...

‘PYT’S AHEAD...ENTER ZONE AT YOUR OWN RISK’…HAHAHAHA...

Barso re megha megha..

RAIN RAIN come now..Johnny wants to play now…

The lands are dry, parched and the farmers are anxiously waiting  for some clouds to wet their lands..but alas! The clouds only seem to be passing clouds..

So the people start praying to GOD VARUNA,the god of ocean and rain.He is said to ride the ‘makara’ or crocodile for a vehicle in Hindu Mythology.Well..how do you please him?

I found an amusing pic in one of the local papers where priests in Tirupati are sitting in tubs of water and praying to appease the rain god! More amusing is the wedding of frogs that seems to be happening more now than ever before..

This article says it all..taken from (http://www.bhopal.net/othernews/archives/2006/07/no_rains_despit.html)

No rains despite frog marriages

SANJAY SHARMA, INDO-ASIAN NEWS SERVICE

Bhopal, July 1 (IANS) The bride and groom are dressed, sprinkled with turmeric and vermilion and taken in a procession to the nearest pond for their 'honeymoon' with fervent prayers that the amphibian marriage would bring much-needed rain. But no showers are anywhere in sight in Madhya Pradesh.

Ha ha

This is an age old belief that is still in vogue..now now..Are these people really sure that Varuna God is going to be pleased with the croakies getting married?

Varuna God can you see our plight? Plzzz barso re megha megha…hehe

PASSION COOKING

The setting was all RED..the topic ‘food and sex’ (displays on the tv screen) and the chef,Ms.Dalmia all dressed in red again vouches to HEAT up the already loaded Tv set with her ‘ cooking’..Now it’s all about “passion cooking’ she says..Italian style with desi tadka on the NDTV goodtimes channel.

A velvet red drape and dreamy candles in the kitchen setting do catch your eye and then your already protruding eyeball stops at a jar of red hot chillies on the table and the chef goes 'BURN YOUR LIPS’ ..use red hot chillies into your dish…well..do you literally need to ‘BURN your lips’ with chillies for passion? Hehe…I thought you could just do it the ‘natural’ way..hehe..that would be more comfy..

Then the intro of all the Aphrodisiacs that go into that ‘passion’ food..some prawns, ginger pieces, honey,a whole lotta spring onions later, the chef garnishes it with some ‘passion’ and serves two pieces of that aphrodisiac into a plate and says this ‘will do it’ for people in looooove..and wait…this third piece is for you two love(lust) smitten people to fight over! Aha…hehehe..

And then two latino dancers break into a salsa behind the chef…exuding ‘passion’..it was more like how to 'make love' on the kitchen floor..was it a cooking show or a passion show? (both actually)

Then the couple 'indulge' in some 'sinful' chocolate that the chef prepares for dessert...hmmm...

The chef ends her ‘passion cooking’ show by telling the passion ‘deficient’ viewers that food and sex are alike…they reach your soul..

Let your ‘cravings’ heighten she adds...

What has cooking come to really now…guess it’s for the ‘sex and the city’ generation..

For a confused viewer like me  the show was just too HOT to handle...just dont try to bite on a red hot chilli next time u want some 'passion'...hehehe

The 'TRASH' story

The pile of trash now looked like a volcanic mountain that was vomiting it’s stenchy filth all over the place and the wind blew the debri far and wide and I just wanted to flee..but I couldn’t..I lived there and I have to ‘survive’ it on a daily basis.

Well, this disaster is not a natural calamity but a man made one..

I took up the responsibility to save myself and my surroundings from this disaster.I called my neighbours who lacked civic sense and tried to talk sense into them…tried telling them that Trash has to be collected and handed over to the Municipal workers daily for a mere sum of Rs 20/- per month.

But NOOO..they would not..they just kept adding to the pile.

Then I called up the Municipal authorities in main office who transferred the call to  sub office who then again made me call  them a couple of times more, till they finally gave in when I threatened to submit the TRASH story with the pic of trash mountain to the news papers.

Finally one day the municipal authorities ‘visited’ the trash mountain and then put a cement ring for a trash bin that lasted few months and then later a huge Municipal trash can thankfully.

I was elated at the success of my ‘mission’ but my happiness was short lived as I see my neighbours bringing their trash and dropping it ‘OUTSIDE’ the trash can…GRRRRRRR…

Now, what is the psychology behind this, I do not know…Is it inbuilt in these so called ‘educated’ people living in cities? We can't keep blaming the Municipal authorities all the time, when fault lies in some uncivilized people...

‘This is your city, keep it clean and green’ slogans are displayed everywhere in the city of Hyderabad. Is it too much to ask for? As citizens cant we do this little bit? Is it difficult to use a dust bin when there is one?

So shameful,I say!

The garbage pile is still spreading it's tentacles and I do not know the END to my ‘Trash story’!

School burden

You know what? I am still celebrating my completion of schooldom..hehe..Now as the schools have begun,I can see little kids carrying more than 5kgs weight school bags on their tender shoulders. They walk like camels with a hump .When I was in their place, I remember I  had a terrible hunch that was the boon of my heavy school bag.

whenever I walked passed overloaded bullock carts walking to school,I could empathize with the bullocks.I could understand what they were going through….I was no better...

The hunch never left me even after I went to college.I believe I must have looked like Hunch back of Notredame..atleast the hunch part..hehe

I was happy to see a report of a local Hyderabadi news channel that a smart  man introduced school bags with wheels..aha..what a welcome change!

These bags are now being sold like hot samosas and the trend is fast catching up!

Now kids can drag their ‘burdens’ instead of carrying them. They look like they are going to the airport to take their ‘flight’ off to school..hehe..

I do not understand why the teaching staff cannot plan each day and ask the students to bring only those essential books that they need for the day.Why should kids be made to carry almost 20 books daily and reportedly 5 books alone for science...

The school authorities should make desk lockers that would help reduce this burden. With doctors warning that a heavy school bag can cause spinal cord injury,it is time that the school authorities woke up!

Unburden the already burdened kids…Parents out there buy those ‘bags on wheels’ plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Sur bhikre hue hain...

Most of us love to hum songs that are popular ,close to our heart or just to soothe our souls as the saying goes ‘music is the food of love’.

I have been lately watching these reality tv singing shows, especially the one that has all the MEGA singers that have won from all other shows'jo jeetha wohi superstar’.

The contestants are awesome!,I must say,but when it comes to judges,Vishal ,shekar and Farha, the most popular line they use is ‘sur bhikre hue hain’..

A contestant comes and rocks the stage and I think wow! That was superb! And then the judges comment comes'aapke sur bikhre hui the..’

A whole lot of disappointment writ on the face ,the contestant walks back dejected and next time you can see him straining his vocal chords even more..arrrrrrrrrrrgh..

Then again the comment comes,' upar ke sur acche the lekin niche ke sur bikhre hui the…’

Cmon judges, the participants are singing at one take and LIVE on stage ,it isn’t a recording….Im sure their sur’s are doing their best!

I understand the judges need to point out mistakes but this surely is getting over critical at times..

I used to sing to myself, however my sur may be…but now after straining through these singing tv episodes and listening to the judges comments, ive even stopped humming..haha..

Perhaps if the judges ever listened to my sur, they would banish me from the Kingdom of music..aaaaaaaahhhhhhh..

A song should be  able to touch the heart of the audience and convey what it has to say.If a singer is able to do that then his battle is won whether his minute sur is bikhra hua hai  at a minute harkath that he took at a minute angle of the song…..Phew!!!

Hey Bhagwaan!!!..I can just hear the judges say it again 'aapke sur tho bhikre hui hain’!!!!

Curious George

After a very loooong time,I watched a sweet cute animation movie about one verrrry curious African baby monkey called ‘George’ on HBO.It’s all about a museum that’s about to close down due to lack of visitors and thereby no money. The museum would be torn down to make a parking lot but Ted,the guide working there assures the owner that soon he would go on an adventurous trip to the African jungles to bring back the long hidden ancient 40feet ‘Zagawa’ monkey idol and that would bring back visitors to the museum.

Ted embarks on a voyage to Africa and there he meets the cute lil monkey,’George’ with whom he develops a warm friendship. But he is disappointed to know that the Zagawa idol is just 3 inches in height and starts back to the city, bading good bye to his lil friend. What Ted dosent know is that this cute monkey gets aboard the ship and follows his friend Ted to the city and there he does all kind of monkey mischief that is fun to watch.

The story then takes you on  a laughing trip on how the monkey and Ted manage to find the 40 feet Zagawa idol back in the jungle and then how they manage to restore the glory of the museum.

The movie is excellent and I recommend you to be curious about ‘Curious George’ ( try catching it on HBO)

Shri Madhavendra Puri's Shrinathji

Shri Madhavendra Puri was a Great Vaishnava Sanyasi who resided in Vrindavan during the 14th century, a contemporary of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He was considered as the greatest devotee of Shri Krishna during his times. He was always immersed in the Holy name.

One day when Shri Madhavendra Puri was immersed in devotion near  Govardhan ,without even caring to eat,a little cowherd boy brought him a pot of milk to drink and said he would come to collect it later which he never did.Later in a dream,Shri Madhavendra Puri recognized the same boy as Lord Krishna who instructed him in the dream to excavate his hidden deity near Govardhan hill which was kept hidden for long by a pujari who wanted to protect it from invading muslim rulers .Shri Madhavendra Puri along with some villagers excavated the area and rediscovered the beautiful black idol of Shrinathji, which is presently being worshipped in Nathdwara,Udaipur,Rajasthan to this day.

The Lord also is said to have instructed Shri Madhavendra Puri to apply cool sandalwood paste on Shrinathji’s idol as he was hidden for long in the hot sand. So,Shri Madhavendra Puri embarked on a journey to Jagannath Puri for the sandal wood paste.

There is also an interesting story of Kshira Chora Gopal ,who stole a pot of sweet rice for his favourite devotee, the temple now located in Remuna,Balasore, Orissa.

The recent conclusion of Chandan Yatra ( smearing of the lord with chandan) in all ISKCON temples was a blessing to all devotees who witnessed it and took part in it.

The above picture is of Shrinathji with an arm raised, lifting the Govardhan hill

HELP! MY ROOM INVADED...

My room has been invaded..not by aliens..not by vampire mosquitoes, but by a little boy! He came to spend his summer hols in my room..well..well..It’s not that I don’t like little boys… they are cute but DIFFERENT from lil girls for sure!

This lil intruder is 9 years of age and tells me he is 18,but without a mousch...hehe

Ok..so this boy sits on my favourite reclining chair till midnight and has taken over my tv..he watches these silly cartoons, not the Walt Disney ones, but the more crude Japanese ones,Pokemon and Shinshen. He makes me sit through them all,if I ‘miss’ them on purpose he hunts me down and  makes me listen to the entire story of Shinshen, a naughty boy cartoon and then tells me ‘shinshen bahut accha bacha hai’..whatever!

First Shinshen and then he moved on to Bandar and blue cat cartoons and then of course the VIDEO GAMES..God help! He told me a list of games he loves to play, more of the violent kinds.when I told him that I  was not interested,he enlightened me that there are games for gals too and he would teach me....hahaha..NO NEED THANKS..!!!

Then I casually asked him about his class mates and he said they form the ‘masti gang’ in his class and he is the LEADER.His recreation is to punch lil girls in his class and loves to make them cry! Ohhhhhhhh GODDDDD!!!

This reminds me of a famous Rhyme-

Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.

A nursery rhyme whose lyrics, origins and history reflected the battle of the sexes

I wish he would rather be like Georgie Porgie and Kiss the girls and not ‘KICK’ the girls to make them cry,,,hehehehe

Not enough, when Im watching any movie and the villain is chasing the heroine and the hero is chasing the villain ,he screams ,shouts and cheers and wishes that the villain gives a punch to the heroine! SHOCKING!!!! HAHAHA..

Im sure this lil boy will surely love ONLY girls when he is a little older..atleast I wish he does..

Right now he is still on my favourite chair, watching cartoons and slurping the second bowl of icecream ..lick lick slurp slurp…HELP!!!

This famous nursery rhyme ,I would like to dedicate to all naughty lil boys and sweet lil girls

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
That's what little boys are made of !"
What are little girls made of?
"Sugar and spice and all things nice
That's what little girls are made of!"

GENIUS TO AN ESCORT

I happened to stop at a story on AAJ TAK that truly shocked me!It’s about a child prodigy ,Sufia Yousof who is a mathematical genius. She was the youngest to join St.Hilda’s college ,Oxford University to study advanced mathematics at a tender age of 13 years when most of the children are still in school and experiencing childhood!

This pressure to excel was ‘forced’ on her by her overambitious father Farooq. The result of which is that she ran away from university after her final exams at the age of 15 and worked as waitress and did petty jobs and finally now at 23 ,she is the most sort after escort girl or call girl, in Manchester. The reason for the transformation from child prodigy to escort girl is said to be in her own words an escape from the ‘living hell’ excess pressure to exceed in studies during her childhood. Now she says she is having ‘FUN’ in what she is doing. She missed out on all the fun in her childhood and now she is making up for it.Even now between her clients she does solve mathematical equations, just to keep her brain working!

This is certainly an eye opener for all over ambitious parents who push their children too hard to achieve too much in a short time.Every child has a right to childhood and parents must realize from this story that it could spell disaster if you force your children too much to excel in studies, sports or whatever field it may be.Instead parents must concentrate on all round development of the child and let the child have it’s precious ‘childhood’ which is every child’s birth right!
