Those were the days when the Titanic fever was at it’s zenith…It was the movie to DIE for..So it was the D day when I went see the movie and that too with my Dad, a sea Captain ..who else can relate to it better?

 So here I was seated between a Captain and a lil girl of perhaps 5 who was so excited to see the movie ? or eat her pop corn? I couldn’t figure out.

As the Titanic made its appearance on the screen the Captain surveyed the ship from his seat and said rather loudly in an agitated manner

‘There are not enough life boats on the ship…Stop sailing!!’

I calmed the Captain and reminded him that he was in a theatre and he must whisper....The titanic sank years ago and there is nothing one can do now.

The girl who was munching her popcorn and spilling half of it on her dress suddenly said,

‘Ammaa.. That girl is sooo white na’ so loudly that I couldn’t help laughing much to the embarrassment of her mom ( she was admiring Kate’s fair flawless skin that is…)

 ‘sshhhhhhhh..’ her mom silenced her.

‘amma where is that granny going in the ship?’

‘amma why is that girl running with that boy in the ship? Her amma wont scold her?’

The girl was bombarding her mom with questions galore..

I think her mom actually closed her eyes when some steamy scenes unfolded on screen for i didnt hear any more queries from her....otherwise she would have asked her amma about it too..Thank God!

After a few minutes and the collision with ice berg…

‘How could they be so careless? We cant afford to be that way when on duty!’ the agitated captain sitting beside me became even more agitated.

‘ ssshhhh…cool down Dad..I know you would have been a better Captain..’I said trying to calm his nerves.

He looked pleased when he heard me say that..

Once the movie was done and I was out I heard a guy give the rarest review to his friends and that is

‘hey…nothing yaar..it’s all about how an iceberg *$#%^& a ship..’loudly that made me wince in pain…what a review!! Painful to the ears…

And then it was the time our girl gang discussed the movie amongst us..well it was the time when we all were expecting a di caprio/Billy to sweep us off our feet( which however never happened)..

‘Leonardo is soooooo cute na’ said one girl admiring his poster on the wall that she stuck next to Tom cruise.

‘well…I think Billy zane that (Bad guy) was sooo HOT!!!’ said another.

Some of us nodded in agreement including me..

‘How the hell can she refuse such a dashing,debonair,sophisticated guy like Billy? And that too who gave her such a huge ROCK? She is crazy!!’said one girl who was ‘practical’ and yes we nodded in agreement.

Billy looked to me like the ‘complete Raymond’s man’ hehehe..

‘So stupid of Kate!....how I wish he had proposed to me …I wouldn’t mind dying with that Rock on my neck’ said another girl who had a huge crush on Billy and the ROCK combined....hahaha..

Whatever the movie meant to each one..it did make a splendid movie..thanks to James Cameroon…Rock or no Rock, Billy stole many hearts too ( apart from Caprio)..ohh Billy!!
